A woman has been asked why she is still with her boyfriend after she asked for advice over his bedroom habit which others labelled “absolutely disgusting”.
She explains that she shares the home with him and a third housemate, with the bedrooms upstairs and the only bathroom on the ground floor.
Her partner has “sleep issues” which she says results in him finding it very difficult to fall back asleep if he has to go downstairs and then back up during the night to use the toilet.
To avoid the problem, he has taken to urinating in drinking glasses he has used from the day before and then leaves them on his bedside table during the night.
“The first time it happened I found one of our glasses full of urine on his nightstand,” she said. “It happens every so often now, and he sometimes lets it sit there for a day or longer.
“He kind of acknowledges that it’s gross and that he wouldn’t like it if someone else did it, but overall doesn’t seem to think it’s a huge deal.
“I’m upset and grossed out every time I see it.
“We have cats that could knock it over, and accidents can happen. We live in an old house with wooden floors with huge gaps in between them so if it spills it’s sticking around. It’s like a disaster waiting to happen.”
His girlfriend says she has tried to be understanding and suggested getting a specific jar with lid that could be flushed and washed each morning.
However he has continued to use glasses that are leftover from drinking water and “acts like the victim when I get upset about it”.
After asking if she was overreacting to the situation on Reddit, one replied: “What the f*** did I just read.
“First of all, why is he peeing so much in the middle of the night? Second, why is he leaving his urine sitting around all day? Third, why are you with him?”
A second said: “That is absolutely disgusting. Glasses are for drinking out of, not ping in, and even though I’m sure you wash them the idea of drinking out of them again is disgusting. Furthermore, not taking care of his p-glass immediately in the morning is completely unacceptable.”
Another simply added: “That man is not housebroken.”
